History

Photograph by Billy Moore, LCRA.

Open spandrel concrete arch bridge. Six sets of concrete arches glide over the reflecting waters of the Colorado River in central Austin. Opening to army tanks and trucks in 1942, this graceful 659-foot monument is now the center of movement and recreation in the State's Capitol.
