Timber Slough Bridge

History

This wooden bridge crosses Timber Slough in the Big Thicket Neches Bottom and Jack Gore Baygall section of the Big Thicket National Preserve. Timber Slough Road runs east to the Neches River from Highway 2937 north of Silsbee. The bridge is a few miles from the Neches River. For directions to Timber Slough, visit the Big Thicket National Preserve's Visitor's Center at the junction of highway 287 and 420 north of Kountze, Texas. The Auto Tour brochure includes directions to this cypress and tupelo slough.
